9 Eleven

Picture
The film portrays the life of  10 people who belong to different walks of life. Though each individual has achieved a measure of success in their individual lives, their darkest secrets come out in the open  when all of them are given some time for introspection, when they meet each other in a bizarre twist of events. They realize that their lives are inter-woven and this literally shakes up their peaceful lives. Terrorized to the core by an unknown entity in an unfamiliar place, each individual is petrified and is hesitant to talk or take each other into confidence for one simple reason....The Fear of the Unknown.

The film "9-Eleven" is a fast paced thriller with undertones of terrorism. Terrorism need not be political ,"ideologically" generated or xenophobic. Terrorism can also be a great motivator for conflict resolution or revenge. The question is how does one survive collectively in meeting this growing phenomenon.......head on?

Mr. Katohora has penned the script and its screenplay.  Narain Kumar  Mathur & his wife Sadhna Mathur  residents of Waldorf , Maryland is producing the film under the banner of Amar Durga Films in association with JMD Creations. Blemished Light - Dawn of Unfreedom

Picture

Yeh Daag Daag Ujaala, Yeh Sabkajida Sehar...Woh Intzaar Tha Jisaka Yeh Woh Sehar Toh Nahi (This blighted dawn, this darkened sun. This is not the morning we waited for)”...these inspiring lines from the famous piece of work 'Dawn of Freedom' by late Faiz Ahmed Faiz forms the backdrop of this film 'Blemished Light' which is also named after its underlying theme.

"The idea of Blemished Light comes from the desire to express the lack of freedom of most dominating social structures – Capitalism and Patriarchy. In a world where mass extermination and discrimination happens in name of “identity”, the task in Blemished Light is to show that people who are considered as “belonging” to a certain identity are very different in their approaches towards most pressing personal, social and political issues of their life," says the writer-director R. Amit Kumar who is a PhD candidate in cinema studies at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, US.

Blemished Light won the first prize at the UFVA Faculty Screenwriting competition, US. "Artwork should make us think and sometimes it has to shock you to do that, and then, is there anything shocking enough today? We have chosen the identities of Muslims and homosexuals in two parallel stories that intercut back and forth in the film revealing us ideological and philosophical connections in different global spaces between powerful and powerless and those who strive to stand against dominating torturing socio political injustices."
